Lt. Bob Dole - 10th Mountain Division

Bob Dole was commissioned a lieutenant and assigned as replacement platoon leader in the fabled 10th Mountain Division, stationed in Italy.

In his memoirs, he recounts that the assignment was ironic, as "there aren't a lot of skiers in Kansas"
